Aurora
Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 1995, in Stavanger) is a Norwegian artist and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th, 2015 receiving rave reviews from bloggers and music critics and the press. Half the World Away from the band Oasis was recorded to accompany an ad campaign for John Lewis, and Nature Boy is a Nat King Cole cover. Katy Perry posted a video that she supported Runaway. It earned her some attention. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is when she discovered a grand piano in the attic. The piano was fascinating to her what it could do. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes urged Aurora to pursue music not to get work or for a passion, but as an opportunity to grow. In order to do so she wrote her first original compositions. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork for being among her inspirations. Her mother had told her the songs she wrote could be used to not gain fame for her however, but to encourage individuals to recognize the value of themselves and their impact to our world at large, she started performing them publicly. When she began playing the piano, she was just six and was writing her first song at the age of nine. The fact that she was a musician wasn't known to her family members until she was fourteen. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. She just loves to write songs. She believes music can make anyone feel better.
